As Of Now!

Placing hand over Heart! (The Bible would be sacrilege)

I Charles Do Solemnly swear that I will not eat any junk-food of any kind for the next 365 days.

This includes:

Little Debbie snacks (oatmeal Creme pies, swiss rolls...etc)
Oreo Cookies
Reese's peanut Buttercups
cookies
cakes
pies
banana pudding
Sour Patch Kids
ice cream (Excludes Popsicles)
Anything in The Candy aisle of the store I work at.
chili dip
cheese cake
fast foods (McDonald's, Burger King, Wendy's)
certain TV dinners (I will eat Healthy Choice, but not Stouffer's, Marie Callender's or Swanson).<---Failed
I welcome anything else that anyone comes up with.

Why have I set this goal so high? Because, I have been eating mostly junk-food all of my life and there is no telling how much damage I have done to my arteries. My body is out of shape. On top of this I have high cholesterol. The idea of dying from a heart attack or, being trapped within the confines of my body by a stroke, doesn't appease any part of my mind or heart. I've tried this before, but I didn't post it in my blog. I did that on purpose, because I didn't have any expectations to live up too. Not to mention that I saw mushrooms that reminded me of Ritz crackers one day as I was walking to work. Now I will post it here for the world to see. Hopefully that will be enough incentive to get me going.

I will also entertain any suggestions on foods that I can eat (I'm All Ears)

Eventually, I may start asking for exercising tips as well.

Wish me luck, I'm going to need it.

First off, WOW at going cold turkey! I could and WOULD never do that. It is all about moderation for me. AND I have been successful. ::smiles::

Good luck Charles. If you need someone to chat with to keep your mind off them oreos, I'm here for ya!

Weights are great for working out. Even if you only have hand weights. There is so much you can do.

Wow, I am so in awe of you for just deciding "okay I am gonna quit" and then you do, what an amazing feat.

Keep us posted on your success (and I can be there for you as support if need be).

that's quite a goal, i wish i had the gumption to do the same, I think maybe i'll start by cutting back to two Pepsi's a day and see how that goes :-) Happy New Year!

wow.. and good luck lol
high cholestrol is "dairy products" so ice cream is a biggie to stay away from.. all milk and cheese products..

if you read the lable on potato chips (and try them with sea salt) it says ZERO cholestrol!..but watch out for transfats.

a good thing to do is write down when you cheat on something.. which eventually everyone does.. this way you make sure if you cheated once "this week" to try harder not to do it in the same week.. that helps the moderation .. and reminds you when and when and how much you are going overboard.... good luck Charles..
concentrate on what you CAN eat and look forward to your favorites in that list!!

There's a good thing about having such a long list. With so many things on it, if you DO slip up and eat 1 thing out of 20 on the list, you are still 95% compliant with your resolution:)

Happy New Years!!
